Team Manager - Position Detail

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to meet with head coach to address daily and weekly needs
  • Liaison between coaching staff and parents of players
  • Must be able to attend practices (before or after) to address any issues
  • Be able to update team information through the League Athletics Website Team Management System

 

Although the team manager may choose to do all or some of these activities, it is strongly encouraged to find other parents of players to help manage each particular task:

 

  1. Practice Schedule: Ensure that each player/and parent understands where and when all practices will be held. This can be done through voicemail, email, word of mouth, texting, social media, etc. as long as everyone is on the same page.

  2. Uniforms: Make sure each player has an appropriate jersey for home games (or away if team has them). Contact head coach if any issues arise regarding player sizes, lost, etc.

  3. Field Painter: Assign individual to ensure practice fields are painted properly and game field is ready to go when needed. This also includes have nets properly strung and set up on the field.

  4. Home Games: Responsible for Game-Day Bin (clock, horn, scorebooks, balls, etc.), scorers table, and shelter tent arrival to field 45 minutes prior to start of game. Also, confirm 2 adults who can work at the scorers table for the entire game. If they have no experience, the referee will teach them how to run clocks prior to the game beginning.  

  5. Away Games: Communicate with parents of players regarding directions to fields, hotel arrangements, carpooling, game schedule for the weekend, food options, in-game snacks/sport drinks, etc. This needs to be done for each game.

  6. Team Photos: Work with photographer to get photos for your team of individual players.

  7. Manage online presence for your team: Responsible for updating team information on the following sites: League Athletics-Flathead Lacrosse home page, and Facebook or other social media.


It is strongly encouraged you enlist the help of other parents on your team. Most parents are willing to help out, they just need to be contacted.
