We serve the Annandale, Alexandria, and Falls Church communities in Virginia by providing opportunities to learn and play little league teeball and baseball for boys and girls ages 4-12.

The success of Mason District Little League (MDLL) is due to the generosity of our volunteers, partnerships with community businesses, of course the Washington Nationals, and our annual fundraising event: the Hit-a-Thon.

Is this year your first MDLL Hit-a-Thon?

Welcome to it! It is similar to a walk-a-thon. The idea is that each player solicits sponsors who pledge to make a tax-deductible donation to MDLL. Pledges can be based either on the total distance a player hits (and we have some sluggers among us!) or a flat donation amount.  MDLL works with Do Jiggy to provide an online fundraising tool. Each player has their own fundraising page that you can share via email or social media with family, friends, coworkers, and anyone who supports your slugger on the field!

Celebrate together

Winners based on distance are welcome to participate in the MDLL Home Run Derby on Saturday, June 23 at Mason District Park. Individual fundraising leaders will also win prizes, and the team with the most funds raised will receive funds for a team party.

No matter how much money individuals raise, we encourage everyone to participate, to have a great time with this activity, and to help MDLL. Thank you for being a part of another great MDLL season.

Thanks to 2017 Hit-a-Thon fundraising and sponsors:

  • MDLL purchased all new helmets, bats, balls, catchers’ gear, and supplies for our two new softball teams and our new intermediate-level team.

  • MDLL purchased bats for 21 baseball teams and 2 softball teams to meet the new mandatory USABat safety and performance standards.

  • MDLL contributed $7,000 to participate in a matching grant with Mastenbrook Grants to improve the field at Parklawn (upper), including new/more infield dirt which substantially increased its playability and availability.

  • MDLL contributed to help sponsor a Minors AA team from the Culmore Community Center, assisting a whole team of kids to enjoy and learn the game of baseball.

  • MDLL maintained low registration fees for all families and continued to build our scholarship programs to support participation in our league.
