Welcome to "Gaining the Edge" a new section of the website featuring tips and terminology of soccer for players of all ages to learn.


Crossing: Crossing the ball is when a pass is done in the air across the front of the goal.  It is typically used to set up a shot on goal.


Man-On:  When a player is marked by an opposing player it is important for a teammate to yell man-on so they are aware of their surroundings.


Give and go:  A series of passes where one player acts like a wall for another player to pass off of to get around a defender.  Here is an example of a give and go drill
