The EYWCA program is available to cheerleaders (K-6) and wrestlers (K-6) living in the East Penn School District. Wrestlers compete in the Valley Elementary League (www.vewl.org), and cannot be 13 prior to September 1ST. This is a travel sport. We may compete as nearby as Parkland and as far away as Pocono Mountain or Warren Hills, NJ.We seek to help every child achieve a healthy level of fitness, build self-esteem through their individual personal and athletic development attained through dedication and hard work, and to promote good sportsmanship. Both parents and children are expected to show respect towards officials and the teams and families with whom we compete. It is paramount to understand that improvement, not winning, is the measure of a successful program.
Cheerleading in Wrestling
Cheerleading is the blending of gymnastics, dance, and the kindling of enthusiasm in an athletic context. The cheerleaders are athletes, who go through a challenging program to learn to gracefully execute stunts, engage the spectators with their cheers, and perform lively, choreographed dance routines. Our Cheerleaders support our wrestlers throughout the year and also compete in numerous cheer competitions in Eastern PA.
