12th Annual Charlie Murphy Tournament and Matt Kull Foundation For Healing fund raiser
Yorktown lacrosse is pleased to announce the 12th annual Charlie Murphy Tournament dates
Saturday June 2nd for boys
Sunday June 3rd for girls.
The tournament details can be found on the YAC website http://leag1.com/?org=charliemurphylax.org .
The Charlie Murphy Tournament was organized to honor the founder of Yorktown Lacrosse, Mr. Charlie Murphy and to raise funds for the Matt Kull foundation. Charlie Murphy was a lacrosse pioneer who helped found the Yorktown program in 1965. Mr. Murphy’s love of the sport and generosity helped establish and develop lacrosse in Yorktown to become a nationally recognized High School program while always being a positive force in the lives of so many young men. Matt Kull was a former Yorktown player who tragically passed away after battling leukemia while at UNC; raised funds help the families of cancer patients in their time of need. Since its inception we have raised and donated more than $100,000 to Matthew’s Mission via the Matt Kull Foundation. To all those who participated last year—thank you for making it a very fun and rewarding weekend. We look forward to an exciting fun filled tournament this June and hope you can join us.
