Cedar Ridge HS lacrosse athletes and coaching staff assist our coaches during spring season and also participate as coaches for clinics and camps throughout the year.

All of our Raider Youth coaching staff is required to submit a background check; obtain a Level 1 or above certification through US Lacrosse, which includes Positive Coaching Alliance modules.

 

COLIN TANLER - lead youth coach and head coach for senior 7/8 Raider Youth Lacrosse

Colin grew up in Minnesota playing hockey and lacrosse. Colin captained his varsity lacrosse team to 2 State appearances, was named to the all conference team his junior year.

He has coached youth lacrosse in Minnesota, both tournament teams and youth summer camps. He moved to Austin to follow his career in sales and joined the Raiders program in 2016. Colin has 4 years of coaching experience spanning hockey and lacrosse. Colin is currently the offensive coach for Texas Stars select team out of Austin.

HUNTER CRUTSINGER Assistant coach senior 7/8 Raider Youth Lacrosse

Hunter has coached lacrosse since 2011 after a high school lacrosse career as Captain of the Edmond Cavaliers junior and senior years; earning titles as leading scorer for three years and leader in assists for two years.  Hunter was recruited out of high school by Greensboro College, playing with them through 2011.  To pursue better education opportunities, he transferred to University of Oklahoma where he continued to play with the Sooners and with Oklahoma City Box Lacrosse until graduation in 2015.  Hunter continues to keep his lacrosse skills sharp by playing in the Austin Men's League.  He has coached a number of youth camps and clinics and lead his players in several tournaments.  Hunter was the 2017 3/4 grade coach for Austin Youth Lacrosse. We welcome Hunter's impressive background and experience to the Raider Youth organization for the 2018 Spring season.

Speed & agility specialist.  Assists with coaching the 5/6 and 7/8 teams during spring season and with all age groups throughout the year. Speed & agility training with Cedar Ridge HS Lacrosse.

Cedar Ridge High School Varsity CoachLEWIS WRIGHT

Coach Lewis will be overseeing the Raider Youth Program and working closely with the youth coaches, especially at the 7/8 level to ensure they are prepared for the high school lacrosse program.  He may attend practices and/or games or coach youth tournaments throughout the year to offer guidance to our youth coaches in properly developing their lacrosse skills.

Lewis is an Austin, TX native who started playing lacrosse in the fall of 1992 as a freshman at Austin High School. During his time as a goalie at AHS he was a part of the 1993 and 1994 Texas State Championship teams, was a 2 time All-District selection, a 2 time All-State selection, and recorded Austin High’s first ever shutout. After being recruited by a some DIII schools, Lewis decided to stay home and attend The University of Texas at Austin. He played 2 seasons with the Longhorns and was a part of their 1997 and 1998 SWLA Conference Championship and NIRSA National Championship teams. He is still an active player, when he can find the time.  As a coach, Lewis started out at Stony Point High School where he was brought on as a D-Coordinator and Goalie coach for the Varsity.  After 2 seasons, Lewis took over as the Head Coach at Stony Point and served there for 2 more seasons.  During his time at Stony Point, the Tigers won 3 District Titles, 3 D2 Final Four appearances, and 1 D2 State Runner Up.  Lewis made the jump to D1 when he joined Westwood HS as their Defensive Coordinator in the Fall of 2011.  He spent 3 seasons with Westwood helping them make a State Super Regionals appearance. After the 2014 season he joined the Round Rock HS program to help their transition from D2 to D1.  He spent 3 seasons at Round Rock as the Head Coach, and helped them make their first D1 playoff appearance.  During his time coaching, Lewis has had several players earn All-State, All-Distinct, and Honorable Mention honors.  He has also helped several player move on to play and the next level in college (D1, D2, D3, and MCLA).  Lewis has also spent summers coaching for various teams and events.  These include: the Texas Team for the National Lacrosse Classic, Trilogy HS Black, Brady's Bunch U19 and U17, OneStar Lacrosse, Bill Pilat's Goalie School, and C2C Austin.  He has lead his teams in events in Long Island, Boston, Baltimore, Denver, Vail, Ocean City MD, Virginia Beach, IMG Nationals in Florida, and more.  Lewis currently lives in Leander with his wife (Hayley) and 2 daughters (Natalie and Nicole), where he enjoys being involved in Natalie's lacrosse and Nicole's Taekwondo activities.
