Kyle grew up in Huber Heights, Ohio attending Wayne High School where he was inducted into the inaugural class of Wayne’s Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended James Madison University and was part of the men’s soccer team. Kyle went on to play soccer after his time at JMU in the USL, NPSL, and MISL over a 7-year span. With many accomplishments and awards throughout his playing career he is most proud of being a part of the JMU Men’s Soccer team where he was a part of 3 CAA Championships and played in the NCAA Tournament every season.
During his playing career Kyle gave his time back to youth sports from the sidelines coaching at many camps and clinics, along with community appearances. He spent time with a soccer club in Pennsylvania in a Director of Coaching role which led him to take a position at Loyola High School in Towson, MD to lead the soccer program and teach full time. Swords led Loyola to a MIAA State Championship and helped develop players as they continued their playing careers into the collegiate and professional level.
