SKY Soccer will be holding several camps and games this summer at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex to improve players’ soccer skills in a fun and challenging environment. Players will receive valuable instruction from current SKY Soccer Staff.
2016 Camps and Clinics Descriptions:
Half Day Camp is for boys and girls, ages 3-12, and will focus on the basic techniques of soccer, such as dribbling, passing and receiving, and shooting. Players will learn these skills through individual instruction and small-sided games, all in a fun-filled environment! All players will be grouped by both age and skill level.
Summer Skills Sessions are for boys and girls, ages 4-9, and will be on Thursday nights for an hour. Similar to the half day camps, these sessions will focus on learning the basics of soccer for the first part of the session and then take what they have learned and play in small-sided games.
Strikers and Keepers Clinic is for girls and boys, ages 7-13, and is for all position players, but the primary focus will be on attacking in the final third (for Strikers) and defending in the final third (for Keepers). Topics of attacking will include: crossing, finishing out of the air and on the ground, shooting from distance, and composure in the 18 yard box. Topics of goalkeeping will include: handling crosses, shot-stopping, diving technique, angles, and organization of defense.
Total Player Development Training is for the player looking to work on higher technical training and technical speed training. The sessions will last one hour and will focused on first touch, first touch under pressure, coerver moves, dribbling to beat an opponent, dribbling to maintain possession, and lots of 1v1 situations. The idea is to develop a higher level of confidence in each player. Ideally for players 10-14 Boys and Girls.
