ACE Madison Sprints to Victory at Waunakee Cup

Playing its first ever competitive games, ACE Madison got off to a flying start at the Waunakee Cup this past weekend!

The U9 Premier Academy Team notched the very first win for the ACE Madison family early Saturday morning with a resounding 12-3 victory. Sunday afternoon, that same team wrapped up an impressive inaugural tournament for all of the ACE Madison teams by winning 8-1 to go undefeated over three games!!

In-between and including those two victories, the five ACE Madison teams competing in Waunakee went a combined 11-4, with 142 goals scored and 48 conceded, posting a most impressive plus-94 goal differential!

The U10 United Academy Team set numerous 2016 tournament records while also going undefeated; among those records were:

  • Most Goals Scored (49)
  • Fewest Goals Conceded (0)
  • Largest Goal Differential ( 49)
  • Most overall points (Maximum 30)

Completing the ACE Madison runout, the U9 United and U10 Premier Academy teams notched key victories over two of their local academy peers, while the U11 United team won a tense and hard-fought battle with a local rival from Madison, laying down a marker for the coming season!

Many congratulations to the ACE Madison players, coaches, and families for announcing themselves to the greater Madison soccer community with competitive class, positive team play, and some hard-working style!!

ACE Madison Academy Teams Showcased at Labor Day PUMA CUP
ACE Madison U10 Academy Teams

Congratulations to the ACE Madison chapter Youth Academy for their Championship efforts at the PUMA Labor Day Cup!

The academy put two teams in Sunday's under ten boys Super Group Final, with ACE Madison U10 United defeating their fellow academy mates, U10 Premier, to become group champions. U10 Premier made it to the finals due in part to their hard-fought 4-4 draw with United the day before.

The Academy also had two teams competing at the under nine age level; U9 United narrowly missed out on a third place finish in the Super Group, while U9 Premier finished as Gold Flight champions, defeating Green White S.C. in the final to cap off an undefeated tournament....

All in all, a fantastic two days for the ACE Madison Academy players, coaches, and families!

ACE Madison U10 United Does It Again!

ACE Madison U10 United Tournament Champions once again!

ACE Madison's U10 United youth academy team completed a clean sweep of their preseason tournament schedule this past weekend at The Great Lakes Soccer Challenge in Naperville, IL.

Playing in the top U10 boys division, United went unbeaten, defeating Galaxy SC Blue, Chicago Fire Juniors West, Campton United SC Nike, and Synergy SC Green, scoring 28 goals and conceding only one!

Their tournament-adjusted tally of 21 goals scored gave them a differential of plus-20, the maximum positive goal differential allowed by tournament rules; this stat made them the only team in the entire tournament to achieve such a feat over their 4 games!

U10 United's preseason tournament schedule saw them compete exclusively in each of the top divisions within their age group, finishing as undefeated Champions in every one of their three tournament competitions. The silverware-winning streak began with the Waunakee Cup in Waunakee, WI, August 27/28, continued with the Puma Labor Cup in Rockford, IL the following week, and ended with the championship performance in Naperville.

Sandwiched in-between the busy run of tournament weekends which kicked off their year, the U10 United lads also participated in the Wisconsin state academy Mega-Date friendlies, which were played Sunday, September 11th in Oconomowoc, WI. Again, the boys were unbeaten, going a perfect 2-0 versus Elm Grove SC and Hartford United's top U10 Academy teams.

Judging by these results, this talented group of hardworking young footballers are more than ready for the business end of their season, which starts Saturday, October 1st vs. Hartford United SC Black, the first match in a series of 8 State Academy play dates in October.......

The ACE family wishes this team, as well as their fellow U9 United, U9 Premier, and U10 Premier youth academy sides in Madison the best of luck this coming month!
