House League is the core of the GYL program for girls in grades K-2, takes place on Saturday afternoons, rain or shine.Emphasis is on rules of the game and teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse including stick handling, cradling, catching and passing. The girls participate in small sided drills and scrimmages. House League will meet at the following times on GreenwichHigh School field 6:
K and 1st grade: 1:00 to 2:00pm
2nd grade: 2:00 to 3:00pm
**NEW IN 2017**
We are recommending modified sticks in this age group this year in order to help with skill development and hand eye coordination. All sticks will be accepted for this age group including boys sticks if preferred.
Girls will be randomly placed on teams of about 10 players per team. There are no evaluations in house league.
The first 2 weeks of House league will be clinics. Games will begin the 3rd week of House league
Sunday Skills Clinics for K - 2nd grade House League players
Sunday Skills Clinics will provide excellent specific skill training as well as a fun social environment for girls in grades K - 2nd. Coaches participate in creative drills with the girls. The Sunday Skills Clinics is an important component of skill building for the girls.
Sunday Skills Clinics will take place at the Greenwich High School Turf Fields from 4:00-5:00pm **new time for 2017 season**
