Bolton Senior/Junior League Baseball

Bolton Youth Baseball offers Senior/Junior League Baseball program for all players between the ages of 13 and 15 years.   Bolton Senior/Junior League Baseball plays against area towns in the Minuteman League.   Players with previous baseball experience are encouraged to try-out for the team.  Due to the limited number of available slots and safety related concerns as a result of the elevated levels of play, BYB reserves the right to hold try-outs and make cuts to determine the roster for the upcoming season.

Program History: The Bolton Senior/Junior League Baseball program was formed in 2006.  The first season offered a single Junior (13-year old only) League Baseball team.  In 2008 Bolton joined the
Minuteman League in the Minuteman division for 13 to 15-year old players and expanded to two teams.

Minuteman League History: 2010 marked the 15th season of the Minuteman Baseball League, a spring and summer recreational baseball league for players of ages 13 through 16. The league began in 1996 with teams from Maynard, Sudbury, and Wayland, and then expanded to include Westford in 1998, Concord-Carlisle in 1999, Weston in 2001, Acton-Boxborough in 2005, Littleton in 2006,Wellesley in 2007 and Bolton in 2008.

 Division Descriptions

Junior League Baseball – 13 Year Old Prep League (13U):

Bolton plays against area towns in the Patriot Division of the Minuteman League.   Players with previous baseball experience are encouraged to try-out for the team.  This prep level of baseball is geard towards first time players playing on the full sized field.  Due to the limited number of available slots and safety related concerns as a result of the elevated level of play, BYB reserves the right to hold try-outs to determine the roster for the up-coming season. Games are seven innings and played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm.   Teams will also practice at least once per week.  Additional practices and/or make-up games should be expected. Hardballs are used.

Note: A high level of commitment is required at the Junior League League level.  This league is recommended for 13 year olds players, with little or no experience on the big field.  Keep in mind that if your child also plays for a middle school team, back to back games at different field locations are likely since games for both teams are often played the same day.

Ages: 13 years old (as of League Age 4/30).
