This Tournament is Officially Sanctioned by USA Hockey. All USA Hockey Rules will apply unless noted otherwise below:
Games will consist of three (13) minute periods for the 12U and 14U, and three (15) minute periods for 16U and 19U. All games are STOP TIME except:
At any time during the second or third period there is a 7-goal differential, the game will go to running time. If difference falls below, game will resume to stop/start time. If at the end of the 2nd period or anytime in the 3rd period, a 10-goal differential exists, the game is over. Penalties shall remain the same during running time and also run with the clock.
The rest period between periods is one minute.
Three-minute warm-ups start after the Zamboni door shuts.
TIME OUTS ARE NOT PERMITTED. (except in championship game only where (1) one-minute time out is allowed for each team)
No Overtime will be played except for Semi-Championship and Championship games.
In the Semifinal or Championship game the Overtime format is:
One (5) minute sudden death format.
One (2) minute sudden death format with four (4) skaters each side. (Goalie is not a skater)
One (2) minute sudden death format with three (3) skaters each side.
A shoot-out, list of five skaters must be submitted before each Semifinal or Championship, If after five skaters there is still a tie, a second list five skaters will shoot. If still a tie the first set of five skaters will shoot again and so on until the tie is broken.
Tie Breakers will be: (1) Head to Head win (2) Most wins (3) Least goals given up in the tournament (4) Least penalty minutes in tournament (5) First goal scored in the head to head game (6) Coin flip called by the designated Captain of the teams.
There is a four (4) game guarantee.
Points earned are based on “period” points (Maximum 5 points/game) .
Winning a period based on score is worth one point.
Tie a period is ½ point.
No points awarded for losing a period.
Two points awarded for a game win.
In a case of a tie in a non-semifinal or championship game, each team is awarded 1 point.
Semifinal and Championship games are based on winner take all.
Team rosters cannot exceed twenty (20) players. No more than 18 skaters and two goalies. A player roster stamped by the Registrar will be required.
Players must be registered with USA Hockey or Canadian Hockey and play on the listed team for the 2009-2010 season. SPRING LEAGUE ROSTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Registration: A coach or Manager must check in with the Tournament Marshall one (1) hour prior to the game. Each team must supply a copy of the Player Roster and Team Membership Application. The score sheet must be filled out at this time also. Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes before the game is scheduled to start.
Only the team players and up to four (4) team officials are permitted on the bench.
Captain and Alternate: The referee and official scorekeeper shall be advised prior to the start of the game of the captain and alternate captain.
Major Penalty: Any major penalty in competition will mandate the player or players involved, as determined by the referee, automatic suspension for that game and one game after.
Any player or coach suspended due to Rule 10 for receiving a Game Misconduct or a Match Penalty will not permitted on the bench or tend the Penalty box during the time of their suspension.
Profane Language is not permitted or tolerated from players, parents or team officials. Use of profanity can result in ejection from the Arena and the Tournament.
A representative must tend penalty box from the team over 18 years of age.
No Protests Are Allowed For Any Reason.
Uniform Colors: Uniform colors are assigned at the sign in desk. Home team wears White. Teams are required to bring both sets of jerseys.
Mouth guards for U.S. Hockey players and Neck Guards for Canadian players.
A Four Team Division will consist of (1) Division of (4) Teams. Each Team will play the other (3) Teams in the Division. All (4) Teams advance to the Semifinals, with #1 playing #4 and #2 playing #3 in the Semifinals. The winners advance to play for the Championship.
A Five Team Division will play a 4-game round robin against the 4 other Teams in the same bracket. The Top (2) Teams in will advance to the Finals.
A Six Team Division will play a 3-game round robin against the 3 Teams in the other bracket. The Top (2) Teams in each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals. The Third Place Teams in each Bracket will play a consolation Game.
An Eight Team Division will play a 3-game round robin against the 3 other Teams in the same bracket. The Top (2) Teams in each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals. The Third Place Teams in each Bracket will play a consolation Game. The Fourth Place Teams in each Bracket will play a consolation Game.
A Nine Team Division will play a 4-game Preliminary Round. The Five Team Bracket will play a 4-game round robin against the 4 other Teams in the same bracket. The Four team bracket will play a 3-game round robin against the 3 other teams in the same bracket, the fourth game will be seeded from the round robin with 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. The Top (2) Teams in each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals.
A Ten Team Division will play a 4-game round robin against the 4 other Teams in the same bracket. The Top (2) Teams in each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals.
A Thirteen Team Division will be broken into (2) four team brackets and (1) five team bracket. The (2) four team brackets will play a 4-game round robin against the other bracket. The (1) five team bracket will play a 4 game round robin within the same bracket. The 3 teams winning each bracket and the second place team with the most points will advance to the Semi Finals.
The Zero tolerance rules are in effect for the tournament. We ask that all Players, Coaches and fans are aware that Sportsmanship is the primary goal of the tournament and any violation will not be tolerated.
Any disputes regarding rules will fall on the tournament director and his decision will be final.
