The mission of the West Hartford Girls Soccer Club is to make the sport of Soccer attractive and available to West Hartford girls between the ages of 6 and 19 for training, recreation, and competitive purposes.

Senior Division Info

Senior Division is for girls born between 1/1/03 and 12/31/05 (and girls born in 2001 that are still in Middle School)  Note - only girls that have not yet entered high school are eligible to play in the WHGSL Senior Division.



Team Size:  

Team size range from 14-17 players per team in the fall season

Team size range from 16-22 players per team in the spring season

The Game:
Senior Division games are played with 11 vs. 11 players on a regulation size field with full-size goals.    FIFA rules are followed.  Games are played in two 35 minute halves.


Fall:  Most games are played at Conard High but a team may be required to play 1-3 games scheduled in nearby towns.  The soccer season is 10 weeks long.  In town games placement are kept track.   Our fall season is our competitive season.  All in-town game is tracked for placement.  Out of town games are scrimmage game with assigned referees.  End of season, there will be two finalists playing for WHGSL Sr. Championship.   The championship game will be played at Hall HS on the turf field. 


Spring: All games are played at Glover Soccer Complex.  Games are played at 9:00 am and/or 10:30 am.  Our spring season is very low key.  No tracking is kept.   No placement is tracked.  It’s an opportunity for players to keep their ball touches improving with the help of our volunteer coaches. 


Time Commitment:

Fall:  There are two 90 minute practices per week at Conard High School.  Most weekends there is one game, although there will be one or two weekends with double games.  All games are played at Conard HS in the afternoon.  

Spring: There is one 90 minute practice per week at Glover Soccer Complex on Tue or Thur only. Most weekends there is one game, although there will be one or two weekends with double games. Spring season games are played at Glover Soccer Complex at 9:00 am and /or 10:30 am.

Equipment Needed:
Size 5 soccer ball, shin guards, cleats, water bottle.  Jewelry that can scratch other players and piercings must be removed before taking the field.
