Senior - 7th & 8th Graders

The GLC girls programs provide instruction and competition with teams of the same age group in the Central Connecticut area.  The Bantam program provides limited regional competition in an instructional format.  Full equipment is required.  Equipment consists of girl's lacrosse stick, mouthguard, goggles and cleats.  Girls play to a different set of non-contact rules than boys with limited equipment needs.  The emphasis in all programs is on safety, fun, and learning the skills and game of lacrosse.

Glastonbury Lacrosse Club Girls Program – Spring 2017 Season

Select Team Tryout Information for Seniors (7th & 8th Grade)

For the Spring 2017 lacrosse season, the Glastonbury Lacrosse Club Girls Program will be fielding a Select Team at the Senior (7th and 8th grade) level.

The committed Senior Select team will be separate, carved out team where players will only play for that team. They will play a more aggressive game and jamboree schedule, with some expanded travel commitments to play some of the very competitive teams that are further away geographically.

The Select team will be ability based.  The GLC Girls Tryout Committee will use a combination of the previous year’s coach’s evaluations, tryout performance & evaluators recommendations to determine the Select team roster.

Important information regarding the Girls Senior Select team:

  • Girls Senior Select Tryouts will be held on January 23rd and January 30th, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Oakwood Indoor Facility.

  • Players interested in participating on the Select team must try-out.There is a $10 tryout fee to cover the cost of the indoor facility.  This fee is required for all players who intend to try out (even if you are unable to attend the tryout).  Registration for tryouts is available in the registration section of the GLC website.

  • Registration for Girls Senior Select tryouts must be completed by January 20th, 2017.

  • The Select Team will usually have four practice/game events per week. This includes participation in joint 3D facilitated practices with all players at their respective level.

  • Playing on a Select team will be a significant time commitment. We ask that parents and players give consideration to this time commitment and feel certain that the time commitment can be met.

  • Girls that make the Select team will be charged an incremental registration fee ($50) to cover the costs associated with additional games, jamborees and practices. The registration process will be made available once the selections have been completed.
