Lumberton Youth Association Recreational Basketball Program
The Lumberton Youth Association (LYA) is a private, non-profit organization serving the community of Lumberton, New Jersey. The LYA provides an introduction to basketball for children from Kindergarten through 3rd grade in a fun, recreational setting of basketball games and drills run by coaches and volunteer parents. The program focuses on age-appropriate basketball development and strive to emphasize sportsmanship, team play and individual growth through competition.
RECREATION BASKETBALL: Recreation-level program will run from early December through February.
Registration: 2016-2017 season registration is now open from now through late November. Register by clicking on "register now" in the top left column on our home page.
Open to all Boys and Girls in grades K-3rd
K/1 - $60 per player. Multiple siblings $55 per player ($5 Discount).
2nd/3rd - $80 per player. Multiple siblings $75 per player ($5 Discount).

Divisions: for 2016 season
Kindergarten/1st Grade – Instructional clinic format taking place on Saturday mornings. Players will be grouped based on skill levels with the initial player assessment taking place on Saturday December 5th.
2nd/3rd Grade – Instructional format initially that will evolve into controlled games as the season progresses. Games will be Saturday mornings and there will be one practice per week (nights will vary depending on coach)
Any student in grades 4th and beyond….unfortunately, we do not have the gym space to accommodate all ages. Our focus (for rec) will be to develop young players in grades K-3. For players in grades 4-9, we recommend the Westampton / Eastampton / Mt. Holly / Hainesport Recreational Basketball league. Click HERE to download the registration form for this league. *** Volunteer Coaches must complete Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y certification
- Each child should provide sneakers and water bottle for each session.
- Rubber soled basketball sneakers are optional but encouraged for all age groups.
- All LYA Personnel, Staff, and Coaches are Parent VOLUNTEERS so please be patient and understanding.
LYA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated entirely by volunteers. The program limits its size based on the number of volunteers we receive, and all coaches are volunteers. In addition to coaches, volunteers are needed for other positions, please refer to the Volunteers Needed section of our website to help.
