We would like to invite you to our Lacrosse and Leadership Camp
Why Leadership Matters
Dear Lacrosse Coaches,
We hope this note finds you enjoying a great lacrosse season.  This summer we are holding our first Girls Lacrosse & Leadership Camp (styled after our successful Boys Leadership Camp, click here ).  We have designed this camp to address a void in the growing lacrosse community.  Players are often spending time on multiple teams, creating a lack of leadership and team building development.  Our facility at The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut offers a top-notch training environment, as well as a traditional camp setting, including a lake.
Our goal is to help campers learn about being a part of something bigger than themselves.  The combination of on-field instruction, and off-field workshops and activities promotes teamwork and teaches leadership qualities.  At the end of camp, we want all of the girls to not only be better lacrosse players, but also recognize how as leaders they can be more valuable to their team, school, and community.
Can we ask you to pass this email along to the players on your team?  We would love the opportunity to work with your players and provide them with the knowledge on how to become better teammates and the best leaders they can be.
Mission Statement
Lacrosse and Leadership is a summer camp experience where your child will have the opportunity to:
1. Develop her lacrosse skills.
2. Learn what it means to be a great teammate.
3. Learn how to become a more effective leader.
4. Participate in several outdoor activities that will allow your daughter the opportunity to enjoy just being a "kid."
Lacrosse Director
Wesleyan University Head Coach Kim Williams will direct the lacrosse program.  Kim played collegiately at C.W Post where she led her team to an NCAA DII title.  She was a three-time All-American and incredibly versatile player, earning the National Defender of the Year award as a sophomore, and Midfielder of the Year award as a senior.  Prior to arriving at Wesleyan, Kim coached at Stockton University and Colby College, where she helped the team to three NCAA tournament appearances.
Leadership Director
Heidi Kasevich, PhD, will direct the leadership program.  Heidi is a well-know author, speaker and consultant on female leadership issues.  Her sessions cultivate the traits of ambition, resilience and courage, and teach girls the skills needed to be self-aware, confident individuals who know their value and are prepared to lead through authenticity.
Leadership Sessions
Our goal is to empower girls to follow their curiosity, view setbacks as opportunities for growth and stand up for what they believe is right.
  • Defining Leadership
  • Listening and Trust Exercises
  • Leadership Focus and Role Models
  • Cultivating Resilience and Courage
  • Importance of Sisterhood
  • Paying it Forward
"Leadership isn't how far we advance ourselves,
but how far we advance others."
Facility Features
The Hotchkiss School athletic facilities include multiple pristine grass fields, as well as locker and meeting rooms. Campers will stay overnight with their leadership groups in the school dorms and share healthy meals at the dining hall. Other amenities include a fully functional health center, lake-front water sports, campfire, canoeing and many other activities on personal time.
