Q. How and when do I register?
A. Registration is held from November to January. 2016 registration will open on December 1. New and returning players must register online or at evaluations in January. Please be aware that you may need to show proof of age and residency as this is a local little league that follows state and national little league age and residency rules. There may be web access to register at player evaluations, but please register online as early as possible if you can.
Q. Why do we register players so early?
A. Our league registration numbers determine the number of Managers we choose, uniforms we order, the amount of new equipment we must purchase and the number of practice and playing fields we must reserve. This all takes time and is done by volunteers. We must register children by January in order to get them on the playing field that Spring. Teams are formed in February, practice starts in March, and games start in April for most leagues.
Q. What is Little League Age?
A. We have a baseball table and a softball table to help you determine your child's Little League age.
For baseball, it depends on the year the child was born. Here is the latest info on League Age from Little League for baseball:
For players born on or before April 30, 2005: The new age determination date of August 31 will be effective starting with the 2018 Little League Baseball Season. For the 2016 and 2017 seasons, these players will use the April 30 age determination date.
For players born between May 1, 2005 and August 31, 2005: The new age determination date of August 31 will be effective starting with the 2019 Little League Baseball Season. For the 2016, 2017, 2018 season, these players will use the April 30 age determination date.
For players born on or after September 1, 2005: The August 31 age determination date will be effective immediately, starting with the 2016 season. This was the implementation used for the 2015 season, with players turning 4 to 9 years old during the 2015 calendar year to use the December 31 age determination date. That implementation remains in place, except instead of using December 31, you will use August 31.
For softball, what is the player's age on December 31, 2015? That is her league age for the 2016 softball season and will determine which division she is eligible to play in.

Why is there a player evaluation?
A. The league holds a player evaluation for upper divisions in January (AAA and up; age 9 and above). The evaluation allows us to place children in a division were they will have the best chance to succeed and to have fun. Everyone plays regardless of how they do at the evaluation. 8-year old players may also participate in evaluations and will be placed in the appropriate division based on the results. 8-year old players are guaranteed to be on a team regardless of the evaluation, but this may still be at the AA level. Also, an 8-year old that particpates in evaluations but not placed on a AAA team may be called up to a AAA team during the season due to loss of players at the upper levels (AAA and up).
Q. Can my child play with his/her friends?
A. Teams in A & AA levels are generally organized by school. Children can request that they be placed on a team with a "buddy". We can normally satisfy that request. Upper division teams (AAA, Coast, Majors and Juniors) are chosen by draft. This is done in a effort to make all the teams as evenly balanced as possible. Your child may or may not play with their friends but they will make many new friends during the season. Siblings playing in the same division are always placed on the same team.
Q. When do Practices start?
A. Practices begin in March and run through the season. The practice schedule will be communicated by the team manager once teams are formed. Teams are formed in February & March and practice schedules are determined at the baseball and softball drafts (for AAA and up) or manager meetings (for A & AA). The older (Junior & Senior) divisions run a bit later than this.
Q. When do games begin?
A. Games begin in late March or early April and run through the end of the school year. The game schedule will be communicated by the team manager after teams are formed and the schedule is made.
Q. How often and what days are practices and games?
A. Number of meetings (games and practices) varies by division and age. The days and times will be communicated by the manager after teams are formed and the schedules are finalized.
