Coaches/Scheduling Meeting
**SPRING DATE:  Sunday, March 13**

*NEW in 2016:  We will be using Google Docs to input the games.  You will be responsible for inputting your four home games in this form.  Please bring a laptop if you have one available but we will have computers available also.

*Every team will play half of their games at home, half away.  3rd-4th grade teams play six games and all other levels play eight games.

*We will split into grade levels – so 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th “A” and 7th-8th “B” will all schedule at different times.  

*We will be starting the spring season after April 4 and try to be done by May 27 in preparation for the spring tourney June 4-5.

*Prescheduling with your opponents is not only recommended, but high encouraged.  This is another reason to register early - so we have current contact information that we can share with you.  

*Each team is responsible to work with the opposing team & come up with proposed date/time of games to be sent to the ref scheduler.

*Recommend every community that has more than one team to try & schedule double headers (5/6 Team & 7/8 team play 1 game after another, etc.) and even triple-headers if possible!  This really helps us when scheduling the umpires.

*Team Pairings - Julie Carlson will be matching up teams according to geography and level of play.  Each team will be emailed a spreadsheet with their opponents.  The first team listed is home, the second team is away unless that doesn’t work for the two teams.  Flexibility is key!

*Team reps that don’t provide dates within 7 days will be ‘auto’-scheduled based upon team & field availability on team sign-up sheets for Home games & according to Away team schedules.

*Be sure to list the field name, not just the name of your town or location.  For example:  Johnson Field in Anytown.  If it is a new location, please note that with an address.

*Recommend every community that has more than one team to try & schedule double headers (5/6 Team & 7/8 team play 1 game after another, etc.) and even triple-headers!  This really helps us when scheduling the umpires.

*Umpires would prefer more games over the weekend if possible to provide more umpire availability during the week for high school play & also in case of high school rainouts/snow-outs which get rescheduled to M-W-F.

* We ask that you are flexible and patient!  Please feel free to send any questions as this is still a learning process for all of us!!  :)
