Any game that is tied at the end of the 3rd period will immediately go to a 5 on 5 shootout, championship game included.

Shootout Format:

Teams MUST provide a list of shooters to the scorekeeper BEFORE the game starts.

List the ENTIRE roster of skaters in shooting order:

  1. If a team does not provide a shootout roster prior to the game starting, their shooters will go in numerical order starting with the lowest jersey number.
  2. Home team has the option to shoot first or second.
  3. Opening Round is the first 5 shooters listed on the shootout roster unless one of the first five shooters was in the penalty box at the end of the 3rd period.
  4. If a player is in the penalty box at the end of the third period, that player is automatically put at the bottom of the shootout list. If there are multiple players in the box, all players in the penalty box are moved to the bottom of the shootout order based on least time remaining on their penalty (after all other shooters have gone).
  5. If there is a tie after the opening round we go to sudden death 1 on 1 starting with the 6th player listed on the shootout roster unless the order was changed due to one of the top 5 shooters being in the penalty box at the end of the 3rd period which caused them to be moved to the bottom of the shootout order.
  6. No player is allowed to shoot a 2nd time unless every player on the shootout roster has had a turn.
  7. There are no goalie substitutions allowed unless an injury occurs to a goalie participating in the shoot out.
