Warrenton Youth Sports Club allows parents/players to request a WAIVER to allow their player to “play up” one age group. Requests and any approval granted are for one travel basketball year (Spring through Winter). Requests are by written application only by the parent or legal guardian. While the Warrenton Youth Sports Club does not recommend that players play up, the League’s leadership does recognize that there may be a number of factors, including but not limited to, size, maturity, experience, and exceptional skills that may warrant a child’s ability to play up. Returning players will be assigned to an age appropriate team. Age waivers must be filled out prior to attending tryout and can be found by clicking HERE
Competitive Basketball Team Tryouts

WYSC's Competitive program Technical Director will schedule try-outs near the completion of each winter recreational season, and in July for our fall season. Tryouts are an essential part of WYSC’s Competitive Basketball Season.

WYSC’s Competitive Basketball team is an intense and highly competitive program. Our coaches look to create well-rounded, highly skilled teams with both the skills and attitude that will best serve the team and the program. Players who join our team must be ready to commit to the season and be motivated to work hard.

Tryouts are open to any interested player regardless of club or team affiliation. Players are required to attend try-outs for their age division. The Technical Director and team coaches will be conducting try-outs. Try-outs, if needed, may be held during multiple days. Player selection process will be done with input from team coaches and Technical Director.

Tryouts are held as a closed tryout. Only players and coaches will be allowed in the gym.

Players are required to play at their proper age division, playing up is not permitted unless approved. Players interested in trying out for any of the WYSC's competitive team will need to pre-register.  For more information about our tryouts click HERE
