Head Coach John Laden

Coach Laden enters his 7th season as Head Coach of Boy’s Lacrosse Program at West Forsyth High School.  In 2017, the program made the State Playoff for the first time in program history, and advanced all the way to the Elite Eight. In 2018, they made another State Playoff appearance. Coach Laden is a native of Long Island, NY and a graduate of Chaminade High School. He received his Bachelor Degree from C.W. Post and his Master’s Degree from Adelphi University. Laden has coached lacrosse for over 30 years at the high school, college, and international levels. He and his wife Renee, live in Cumming with their children Colby and Ella.

Asst. Coach Dave Neal

Coach Neal is entering his 5th year coaching lacrosse at WFHS.  In addition to helping build the lacrosse program at West HS, he contributed to the development and growth of the successful WFYLAX youth feeder program. He grew up playing lacrosse in Maryland where he played for several top collegiate club teams before graduating from Towson University.

Asst. Coach Carlo Grohovac
Coach Grohovac  is entering his second season as the Defensive Coach at West and is looking to carry on being a Defense powerhouse for 2014.  He attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 1986-1989. During his tenure, he lettered all four years in Men's Lacrosse for the 1986 NCAA Division 1 National Champions, 1987 NCAA Quarterfinalist, 1988 ACC Champions, NCAA Quarterfinalist and 1989 ACC Champions, NCAA Division 1 Semifinalist as a defensive specialist. Coach Grohovac grew up in Freeport, NY (Long Island Area) and attended Freeport High School.  In high school he lettered and was captain in both football and lacrosse as well being chosen for the All County teams in each in 1984 and 1985. He was a member of the 1984 New York Empire State Games Lacrosse team where his team, Long Island, earned a silver medal. In 1985 he was also a member of the North vs. South All-Star Game. 
Coach Grohovac has coached at the middle school level, as well as with Jr. and Sr. Select, in Forsyth County over the past five years with West Forsyth Youth Lacrosse. He also coaches youth football in Forsyth County and still plays lacrosse. He lives in Forsyth County with his wife and three sons who play lacrosse as well.

Asst. Coach Chris Colson

Coach Colson joined the WFHS lacrosse program last year, bringing experience as a coach for and president of the West Forsyth and Forsyth County youth lacrosse programs.  Support by his lovely wife, Lisa, and family, he helped coach and organize the nation's first youth lacrosse program for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He has also played middie on collegiate club programs at Elon College and Florida State University.
