Dave Colangelo (2018) is currently the head coach at Loudoun County High School where he was named the 2013 and 2014 Dulles District Coach of the Year after leading the Raiders to a 32-2 record including an undefeated campaign in the Dulles District.  Dave comes from lacrosse hotbed Syracuse, NY where he was an all-state performer at perennial powerhouse Fayetteville-Manlius High School. He played college lacrosse for ODAC powerhouse Randolph Macon where he was a 4-year letterwinner before setting into the DC area where he has coached at Trinity, Robert E. Lee, and now Loudoun County.  Dave currently plays for Blue Moon Lacrosse Club (outdoor) and Blue Tide (box)


Scott Mitchell (2019) - Scott currently serves as the head coach of Stone Bridge High School (Ashburn, VA) where he has guided the Bulldogs to numerous district, regional, and state playoff appearances.  During his tenure, he has coached numerous D1 players so he is well connected within the college coaching ranks and has experience assisting players with the recruiting process.  Scott grew up on Long Island and played high school lacrosse at Hauppauge HS and then went on play college lacrosse at D1 Binghamton University where he serves  the team captain. He currently plays box lacrosse in the MABLL and field lacrosse for Washington Lacrosse Club.


Phil Polizzotti (2020) is currently the head Varsity Coach at Westfield High School. Coach P has coached high lacrosse in the northern virigian area for over 15 years at elite programs such as Robinson, Lake Braddock, and Westfield. Over the years, Coach P has coached and placed dozens of lacrosse players and D1 and D3 schools across the county.


Sean Tate (2017) - Sean is a graduate of Herndon HS where he starred at attack and midfield for the Hornets.  Sean has been coaching high school lacrosse for the last 8 years at Chantilly HS and South Lakes HS.  He served as the Assistant Coach at Chantilly HS from 2006-2008 where he was an integral part of the 20-0 state championship team in 2008.  From 2008 to 2014 he has been at South Lakes HS where he has served as the Head JV coach and Varsity Offensive Coordinator.  


Alex Inman (2021) - Alex Inman takes over as the head coach of the Cavalier 2021 team this fall.  Alex is currently the head coach at Loudoun Valley High School where he was part the coaching staff that lead the Vikings to the schools first ever 4A State championship in 2015.  Alex and his father own and run Purcellville Sports. 


Tanner McClelland (2021) - Tanner graduated from Loudoun Valley High School with four varsity letters in lacrosse and three in football. As a lacrosse team captain in 2015, McClelland led the Vikings to state, regional and district championships. Upon graduation, he was honored as a Roger Blakeney Scholarship recipient.  Tanner currently plays college lacrosse for Randolph Macon. 




Marty Young (2022) - Marty is currently the Defensive Coach for Briar Woods High School.  He is from Baltimore, MD and played high school lacrosse at Towson High School where he was an all-state defenseman.  He played his college lacrosse at Virginia where his intensity and hard-hitting style earned him the dubious honor of leading the ACC in penalty minutes in his junior season in 1992.  He comes from a strong lacrosse lineage - his father was a 2-sport athlete at Army where he earned All-American honors as a defenseman in lacrosse and as a wide receiver in football.  Marty currently coaches at Briar Woods High School where his teams have won numerous conference championships, regional championships, and most recently won the 2016 Virginia 5 state championship.  Marty is also a founding member and longtime coach for Dulles South youth lacrosse.  Coach Young is still an active lacrosse player and is a member of the Cavalier Masters team. 

James Cramp (2023) - James played college lacrosse at D3 powerhouse Washington College and graduated in ’97. He played high school lacrosse at James Madison and was a highly decorated and highly recruited high school player with awards including 3x All Northern Region and 4x ALL District.  He coached James Madison High School for 6 years and is currently coaching youth lacrosse with Ashburn Bandits.  James has been a versatile multi-position player for the Washington Lacrosse Club for the past 17 years.  Coach Cramp is still an active lacrosse player - in the spring he plays for the Cavalier Mens Elite team; in the summer, he plays for the Cavalier Masters team; in the winter, he plays for the Cavalier Mens Box team.

Eric Blow (2024) - Coach Blow grow up in New Hampshire where he was a star midfielder before moving onto play his college lacrosse at Purdue.  Eric coaches for Herndon Reston Youth Lacrosse (HRYL) and has twin boys that play HRYL and Cavs.  


Eric Corella (2024) - Coach Corella was an all-county and all-state midfield at Broad Run High school where he starred as a midfielder and lead the Spartans to multiple state playoff appearances. Eric plays college lacrosse at #2 ranked Lynchburg where he is the teams faceoff specialist. Eric provides specialty faceoff training to all Cav youth teams and serves as of the offensive coordinator for the Cav 2024 team.


Kevin Burns (2024) - Kevin Burns joined the Cavalier coaching staff in the summer of 2011 and has coached several Cavalier youth teams since that time. Kevin is a Cavalier alumni and also played at Briar Woods High School where he was an All-Region defense-man his senior year.  Kevin then went on to play for the James Madison University lacrosse team.  Since graduation Kevin has continued to active with the sport through coaching and he plays for several club teams in NoVa.

John Snevely (2025) - John grew up in Fairfax and played at Oakton High School where he was a multi-year all-conference attackman.  He then played college lacrosse for Virginia Wesleyan before returning the area.  John plays lacrosse year-round -  In the spring, he plays for Alexandria LC;   in the summer, plays with Cavalier Mens Elite; and in the winter, he plays for Cavalier Box Mens team.   Coach Sneves lives with his wife in Brambleton where he is a middle school teacher. 


Chris Internicola (2026) -  Chris Internicola joined the Cav coaching staff in 2015 where he lead the Cav 2025 team for fall '15 - spring/summer '16 season.  For the fall '16 season Chris will be leading our new 2026 (U9) team.  Chris played D1 college lacrosse at Radford University where he played long stick midfield and close defense and graduated in 1996.   He is originally from Long Island, NY where he played at Wantagh High School.  Chris has also been coaching youth lacrosse for the Ashburn Bandits boys and girls programs for several years now and plays club lacrosse during the summer and fall seasons for the Cavalier Men's Masters team.


Jesse Southward (2026) joined the Cav coaching staff in the fall of 2016 as the Assistant Coach of the 2026 team and he serves as one of Cavalier’s goalie coaching specialists.  Jesse played lacrosse at Stone Bridge High School where he started all four years at goalie and then went on to play college lacrosse at DII powerhouse Limestone College. Upon Jesse’s return to NoVa from college he served as the goalie coach at Robinson High School where he helped them to win the VA state championship in 2014. Jesse now serves as an Assistant Coach at Broad Run High School where he coaches their goalies and offense.


Kurt Mueller (2027) - Kurt grew up Philadelphia area where he played multiple sports in high school, but excelled at lacrosse. He went on to be a HS All American in 1993 with Germantown Academy and still holds the single season goals record. His team won the 1993 PA High School State Championship and he was selected as a North/South HS All Star before going on to play for Division 1 University of Virginia ('97 Grad). He played both Attack and Midfield for the Cavaliers that were in 3 NCAA final fours, 2 national championships and won the 1997 ACC Championship. After college, Kurt was an assistant coach at nationally ranked Division 3 Washington & Lee University, Vienna youth coach, Falls Church Varsity HS coach and currently in his 3rd year coaching the 8U Prince William Royals Lacrosse Club Youth Team. He has two boys that play youth lacrosse, ice hockey and soccer. 

Specialty Coaches

Matt Bukevac (Goalie) - Coach Buk played his high school lacrosse at Briar Woods where he was the named the Dulles District player of the year and all-American in 2010. He is currently the starting goalie for D1 Robert Morris. Coach Buk provides goalie instruction to multiple teams and serves as the assitatn coach for Cav 2023. Coach Buk plays summer lacrosse for the Cavalier mens Elite team.

Will Bolton (Goalie) - Coach Bolton played his college lacrosse at University of Virginia where he was a goaltender on two national championship teams. Will grew up in the Charlottesville area and attended Monticello High School where he was a national all-American.

Bruce Lipson (2016) is the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at the 2016 5A State Champion Briar Woods HS.  He grew up in Baltimore, MD and played high school lacrosse for the #1 nationally ranked (1999, 2005) McDonogh School.  His college career was spent at the University of Virginia where he lettered as a freshman playing midfield and was the team face off specialist.  While playing for UVA, he was selected to the ACC scholastic athlete team.  Coach Lipson is a 2-time Dulles District Coach of the Year, Regional Coach of The Year and US Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
