Riley Winter | Director of Coaching / Varsity Head Coach
Certified USL Level 3 Coach
Riley Winter is heading into her third season as Head Coach at Pinnacle. Last year she helped lead the team to its sixth State Championship, earning AGLA Coach of the Year honors in the process.
Riley began coaching in 2008 as a volunteer basketball coach at Mountain Trail Middle school and moved to lacrosse in 2011 as a Lax Locker clinic coach. She attained her Level 3 US Lacrosse certification in 2017.
Prior to coaching Riley played at Pinnacle High School from 2008-2011, winning a State Championship in 2010 and All State awards in her 2011 season. She then went on to play at NCAA DII Limestone College from 2012-2015.
While at Limestone, her team won two Conference Championships, three regular season championships, were DII National Runners up in 2013 and Riley was named All Conference Carolinas Second Team in 2015.
Riley believes that there are few things more powerful than instilling confidence in a young athlete. The game has given her more than she could have ever imagined and wants to give all she has learned to the next generation of lacrosse players.
Larissa Murdock | Varsity Assistant Coach
Larissa is starting her second season as a coach at Pinnacle. Coaching both JV and Varsity teams last year, she helped aid their success in acquiring an undefeated season for JV, and a State Championship for Varsity.
Her experience in lacrosse started in Albany, New York, followed by a transition to Arizona where she spent three full seasons with Pinnacle Girls Lacrosse Varsity teams.
From 2009-2012, Larissa received multiple All State awards, and finished her last year at Pinnacle as Captain, helping to lead the team to its first undefeated season and State Championship title. She also represented Arizona at the US Lacrosse National Tournament.
After receiving multiple lacrosse scholarship offers, Larissa decided to stay in Arizona and pursue a Nursing degree through a full ride academic scholarship.
Larissa started coaching in 2013 as a Lax Locker clinic coach for two full seasons. She is soon to be a Certified USL Level 1 coach, dedicated to taking Pinnacle Girls Lacrosse to the next level with her fellow coaching staff.
She believes there is something powerful in teaching young girls how to have a strong mindset and a skill of their own that goes beyond the game of lacrosse.
David Wieneke| Varsity Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach
Certified USL Level 2 Coach
David is joining Pinnacle after coaching with Desert Vista Girls Lacrosse for four years. David started coaching in 2014 and received his Level 2 US Lacrosse certification in 2016.
As a player, David played goalie for the Desert Vista Varsity Boys Lacrosse team, where he was a Varsity team captain and lead his team to the State Championship game in 2013. In 2012-2013, David gained valuable experience as a referee, officiating games for Youth Boys Lacrosse.
David began his coaching career with Desert Vista Girls Lacrosse in 2014 as the Head Coach for Junior Varsity. In 2016, he was promoted to the Head Coach of the Varsity Team, and led the girls to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons. In 2017, David lead Desert Vista Girls Lacrosse to their first ever Undefeated regular season. Under his leadership, three players received
Division I scholarships, a first for Desert Vista Girls Lacrosse, in addition to multiple Division II and III scholarships.
David’s primary focus at Pinnacle will be working with the goalies. As a former goalie himself, David understands the importance of having a skilled and well-developed player in goal. He has worked with some of the best goalie coaches in the world to develop the drills and techniques he
teaches to his teams. He also coaches private goalie lessons to players from all around the League to help growth their skills and the sport of Lacrosse.
A firm believer in sportsmanship, David teaches respect for the game and your opponent. David truly has a passion for the game and wants to share his enthusiasm in a positive way to grow the sport any way he can.
Reginald Younger | Junior Varsity Head Coach
Team Sports Psychology Consultant
Certified USL Level 2 Coach
Reggie is a Certified Consultant with the Association for Applied Sports Psychology, the largest sport and exercise psychology professional organization in North America.
He is a graduate and student athlete from Weber State University, in Ogden, Utah where he was a three year Track & Field letterman under world-renowned coach Chick Hislop. He then went on to receive his Masters of Sport & Exercise Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology in January of 2013.
Reggie participated on the varsity teams in basketball and Track & Field (high jump) at Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, California where he still holds the high jump record.
Last year Reggie was proud to lead the Junior Varisty team to an undefeated 11-0 season in his second year as JV Head Coach.
Reggie is the founder of the VRC Sports Psychology Performance Consulting Group, a consulting firm in North Phoenix serving clientele from elite professional athletes and collegiate athletes to high school and middle school competitors in the sports of lacrosse, tennis, basketball, football, softball and others.
His areas of research interest include the psychological aspects of athletic injury, concussion, eating disorder, gender diversity, clinical psychology, anger management, mental performance and the role of exercise in mental health and wellness, and he is also pursuing his license in marriage and family therapy.
Reggie is a member of The Association for Applied Sports Psychology, The American Psychological Association, The International Society of Sport Psychology and The APA Division 47 Society for Sport Exercise & Performance Psychology.
Reggie, a believer in serving the community, is currently the Vice President of the Desert Ridge Community Association, Chairman of the Design Review Committee, and Chairman of the newly created Public Affairs Committee for all of Desert Ridge.
He also served as President of the Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association (AGLA) for thr 2016-17 season and currently sits on the AGLA board.
Saryn Vanasse | Middle School Head Coach
Saryn Vanasse played for Pinnacle Lacrosse for four years, graduated in 2017. She competed on the 2017 State Championship team as well as the 2016 Runner up team. Throughout middle school she tried many different sports until her friend introduced her to lacrosse her freshman year and now she couldn’t imagine her life without lacrosse.
She is excited to coach and help these girls grow and teach the younger ones to love the sport. Throughout the past four years her coaches have always taught her to never give up and to continue to work hard. Her teammates have always been her family and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to pass down all that she has learned in lacrosse to the younger ones.
