2016 WHITEFISH BAY LITTLE LEAGUE
Whitefish Bay Little League is very excited for another exciting season of Challenger Division baseball with our very own Bats. This division gives every child in Whitefish Bay the opportunity to participate in youth baseball as an official player in the Little League.
In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance to bat and they either hit from a tee or are pitched to by a coach. We’ll play two innings and the sides are retired once we bat all the way around the order.
You can learn more about the origins and objectives of the international program here:
Kids that are ages 4-18, or up to 22 if still enrolled in high school, are eligible to play.
Our Bats play against kids from Elmbrook, Menomonee Falls, Grafton and Germantown. Practices will begin in May and games will run for approximately 5 weeks in late May and June. The Bats will host games at Craig Counsel Park and travel to the other leagues for away games. Each player will also have a "Buddy" to help with their positioning and development. Anyone in 7th grade or above who is interested in helping as a Buddy can contact Josh Levy at JLevy@whdlaw.com.
Our goal is to give Challenger players as close to the same experience as the kids playing in our Pee Wee, Minors, Majors, Intermediate and Junior divisions.
Player registration runs through January 15th and is being done via the league’s website, www.wfbll.com. There is a brief form to fill out and a fully secure credit card payment process (Visa and Master Card accepted). The fee for Challenger is $75 and includes a jersey and hat. After deadline registration is at the discretion of the league.
