Dave Webster  Head Coach 2023

Dave Webster returned to his alma mater in fall 2001. The Red Devils have flourished under his leadership and have consistently competed with the best teams in Division III.

Prior to coaching the Red Devils, Webster enjoyed the challenge of starting a program at Marymount University in 1991. The Marymount program quickly grew into a much respected program, and Webster was twice named Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He still holds the record for career wins at Marymount.

After seven seasons at Marymount, Webster was hired by Centennial Conference (CC) rival Franklin & Marshall College. In three seasons at the helm of the Diplomats, Webster was able to recruit and coach several All-Americans and led his 2001 team to a postseason ECAC playoff game.

The opportunity to return to Dickinson and lead this program was a dream come true for Webster. Early in his fifth season at the helm of Dickinson, Webster recorded his 100th career win and soon after became Dickinson’s all-time win leader.

Dickinson lacrosse players consistently earn All-CC and All-American honors. In addition, multiple players have competed in the Division III North-South All-Star game. Coach Webster is most proud of the recent graduates who have also earned Scholar All-American honors. The lacrosse program also has achieved great success and accolades for an off-the-field commitment to service. Team members were recognized in 2007 by the American Red Cross for their community-service projects in Carlisle. In addition, the National Association of Athletic Administrators recognized the program for its service endeavors.

The Red Devils made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, winning three consecutive Centennial Conference Championships from 2010 to 2013. Setting numerous school records in 2013, Dickinson won 18 straight games before falling in the NCAA playoffs to finish 18-1.

Lacrosse began at Dickinson in 1952 and there is a tremendous network of successful alumni who actively support the current program and players. Connecting current players with this network is a priority for Webster. In 2013, Brandon Palladino '13 became the first player in conference history to be named First-team All-Centennial, all four years of his career. He was a two-time USILA National Long-Stick Midfielder of the Year, and named the USILA Player of the Year in 2013 as well.

In the spring of 2018, Webster enters his 27th season overall and his 17th season at the helm of the Red Devil program. He has an overall record of 230-158 and has a mark of 89-55 in Centennial Conference play, including his time at F&M.

Webster is an active member of the lacrosse coaching profession and has served in various leadership roles for his sport. Besides serving as a longtime member of the NCAA Lacrosse Rules Committee, Webster also served as vice president to the USILA and as treasurer to the Men’s Division Coaches Committee of U.S. Lacrosse. Webster was honored by his peers in 2008 for his service to the college game. Webster resides in Carlisle with his wife Megan, daughters Grace and Lilly, and son Luke.
