Cheer Practices & Games
-Practices for the Fall 2018 season will be held weekly, beginning in August and ending in November. Dates, times, and location will be determined by each individual squad.
-Cheer practice will focus on three parts: cheer, dance, and jumps/cheer skills.
-Practices will be led MP Cheer Coaches. All instruction will be age/ability appropriate. MP Cheer is a 'recreational' (non-competitive) program. The focus of our practices is to build confidence, have fun, and introduce new cheer/dance skills.
-Girls should wear their MP Cheerleader t-shirt, shorts or capris and athletic/cheer shoes. Poms will be needed at every practice.
-The cost of MP Cheer Practices is included in your registration fees. Parents are invited to stay and watch practice.
-MP Cheerleaders cheer on our MP teams to victory!
-Games are held every Saturday, September through November. Games times, dates, and locations will be available once the football schedule is set (usually released at the end of August).
-During the game, cheerleaders perform on the sidelines. They will showcase cheers for the fans and enthusiasm for our football teams. MP Cheerleaders also dance on the football field at half time. (This is usually a favorite for the girls!)
-Girls cheer 1st, 2nd, half time, and 4th quarter. (We take a break and rest during 3rd quarter.)
-Frequent water breaks are taken! Per the official field rules, no eating is allowed on the field/sidelines.
-MP Cheer Coaches will lead the cheers during the game as well as attend to the needs of the cheerleaders.
-For the safety of the girls, only MP Cheer Coaches are allowed on the sidelines and field during the games.
-Parents must plan to be present during the games. Each game lasts approximately 2 hours.
-Many MP Cheerleaders are involved in numerous extra-curricular activities (soccer, competitive cheer, dance etc). Attendance at all practices/games is encouraged, but not mandatory :)
