A baseline test creates a profile of your child’s reaction time, memory and attention difficulties. By knowing how your child performs on the test before a hit to the head, a medical professional can help you answer important questions afterwards.
Sno-King Hockey encourages you to get a baseline test.
Appointments are now available at Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah on December 3rd on a first come, first serve basis for children 10 years old and up.

IIHF World Girls' Hockey Weekend Jamboree A Huge Success
by posted 10/13/2014
Sno-King hosted a Girls' Hockey Jamboree on Saturday, October 11th to help celebrate IIHF's World Girls' Hockey Weekend. The event was a big success, with 44 girls in attendance, three cross-ice games, a party and sweet Sno-King Girls' Hockey T-shirts for all!
Turner Stevenson (pictured top left), Sno-King's Elite A1 Bantam coach was invited to the USA Hockey Western Regional High Performance Camp in Colorado Springs and just returned from the five day camp. Sno-King's Hockey Director, Doug Kirton, was recruited by USA Hockey to return as a coach at this event also.
This is a very unique camp as it utilizes the concepts of the American Development Model (ADM) and Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD). The camp takes place on the Colorado College Campus with 10 teams comprised of the top 200 players from: Rocky Mountain (AZ,CO,ID,NM,UT,OK,TX), Pacific (CA,OR,WA,NV.HW,AK) and Northern Plains (MT,ND,SD,WY) Districts of USA Hockey.
The entire coaching staff was comprised of coaches from across the US in all levels of professional, college, junior and prep school hockey programs. The focus of the camp is on player development and education. The coaches spend 5 days collaborating on practice plans and structure, team building, and coaching philosophy and put it all into practical application on the ice with the players. Coach Turner would like to congratulate the Washington participants for representing the State. They were Dawson Butt, Donald Cribbs, Luke Frost, Kenny Gill, Sam Myers, Conner Pitlick, Braden Sanchez, Jakob Stevenson, DJ Tamburo, Easton Thomas, Dawson Tritt, Marco Valenti, Tyler Wong, Jake Zalud, Elliot Bucci, Conall Muldoon, Cameron Crispeno and Nic Fitzmaurice.

Auction Raises Over $63k!
by posted 02/12/2014
Thank you to all that helped make the 2014 Sno-King Fundraiser Auction a huge success. It was a fun evening with good eats, good drinks, good friends and all in the name of a great cause.
Over 200 members, family, friends and staff attended the event.
A big thank you to our auction co-chairs, Kathie Roth-Johnson and Joanie Wojcicki for all their passion and efforts and to Brenda Darnbrough who goes above and beyond the call of duty every year for this important event.
Thank you to all of the membership for their donations/procurements/assistance. To the Midget Team Seattle and 18u players that helped work the event and load/unload trucks.
Thank you to all the attendees that bought items, donated to the scholarship fund, taunted their friends into bidding just a bit more J and who stuck around for the entire evening despite the big white flakes that were coming down.
If you attended the event, please check your pile of items that you brought home. We are missing a couple items and they may have gotten into your stuff mistakenly. Let Brenda know if you have something extra or are missing something.
The event raised a bit over $63,000, which goes toward
Need-based scholarships - over $12,000 was pledged for kids who could not afford to play hockey otherwise
Keeping fees low for all members, which are the best value in town
Long term financial management, such as debt reduction, to ensure we can achieve our mission for years to come
Bantam Green Wins Wenatchee Cup!
Congratulations to Sno-King Green who won the Wenatchee Apple Cup for Bantams in a hotly contested tournament. They started the tournament on Saturday with a tough 5-2 loss against Tri-Cities, in a score line that didn't reflect the way either team played. Going into Saturday evening's game with Portland Black Tie, Sno-King needed a big victory to have any chance of an automatic spot in the semi-finals, but a late goal gave them a 2-2 tie, and sent them to the wild card round. It was Portland again - this time Portland Whiteout -- that Sno-King had to face, and an early lead of 3-0 was eroded to 3-1 in the third. A late goal from Portland made for a frantic finish, but Green came through with 3-2 victory, and a date and rematch with Tri-Cities in the semi finals. This time the tables were turned, and Sno-King dominated from the first whistle, cruising to a 5-0 victory, and a date in the final rematching Portland Black Tie, who had eliminated Kent in the semi finals by a score of 3-1. Sno-King were the hungrier of the two teams, pushing hard from the get go, and getting out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, that they built on, finally winning by 6 goals to 1, and taking the Wenatchee Apple Cup back to Seattle.

Staying Safe When Travelling
This past week there was a violent robbery outside of a hockey rink in Surrey, B.C.
Two Sno-King teams were in a tournament at that facility at the time and a Sno-King parent was the first to administer aid to the victim. Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family and friends.
These type of incidents are a terrible reminder that not all areas around all hockey rinks or hotels are without possible dangers and our families and teams need to remain diligent about their safety.
We recommend that
Parents and team management research the areas around facilities and hotels when traveling.
Teams should implement player movement rules (stay in groups) and curfews.
Parents should also take appropriate precautions for their own safety.
There have been incidents (of a lesser extent) around both of the Sno-King Ice Arenas in the past.
Players need to stay in groups if they are running their laps or warming up behind the facilities.
Please do what you can to help keep our players and families safe.
