Tim Texeira

My playing career started with South Central Premier (the top premier program at that time) I was also selected to play for the CT and ODP State programs. While at Shelton high School I was named All New England three years in a row, before graduating in 1996. From there I attended SCSU during their highly successful run in the 1990’s with 5 national championship wins.

I have played and worked under some of the best coaches in CT, in towns such as Westport and Shelton. I Continue to play and am currently playing soccer with Shelton FC. For the last 5 years I have been the coach / assistant coach for SYSO. I am currently Head coach of u15 and u16 boys groups in Newtown, and am also working with Rec program. This is my first year working in Newtown, where I will be head coach of boys u13 group.

Jack Read

Jack Read has coached Soccer at Fairfield Prep at the Freshman and Varsity level since 2016. Additionally, as a player himself he attended Portsmouth Abbey School where he was named Captain for both Soccer and Lacrosse, and was elected into Athletic Hall of Fame at Portsmouth Abbey School. He then attended Virginia Tech for Soccer with a partial scholarship for the fall season 1979. Played one year only after a knee injury.

Coach Read is also a Lacrosse Coach for Newtown and Fairfield Prep. He started coaching Lacrosse in Newtown in 2002. He coached at the 5th grade through 8th grade levels until 2007. He recently came back to coach in Newtown in 2017 and 2018 at the 5th/6th grade level and 8th grade level. Jack also coaches Lacrosse at Fairfield Prep since 2011 at all levels Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman. He is passionate about both sports.

Currently he is a Graduate Student at Fairfield University pursuing a Masters degree in Clinical Therapy to become a sports psychologist. Coach Read will be the girls U13 Coach this Fall.

Keith Miller

I have been coaching for the NSC for over 20 years and have coached both boys and girls teams ranging in ages from U6 through U-14. I am currently a member of the NSC Coaches Advisory Board and work closely with the NSC Coaching Directors. I was the 2010 recipient of the NSC - Al Taubert award and I currently hold CT “D” coaching license with additional youth modules. I began coaching when my oldest son was involved with the recreational program in 1993 and moved into the travel program when my 2nd son, Justin, was 10, as an assistant coach/trainer. Justin now works with me, with my travel teams and truly enjoys his opportunity to “give back” to the NSC players.

Gil Hokayma

I possess over 25 years of professional soccer experience as a player, coach, and manager. USSF-licensed, I have dedicated my career to establishing myself as a top level youth soccer coach.

A 2016 Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame inductee, I have served as coach for Connecticut ODP, South Central Premier, and as coaching director for the Redding and Westport recreational soccer clubs, in addition to serving as an assistant men’s coach for Southern Connecticut State University, a program which has won multiple National Championships.

Prior to establishing myself in coaching, I was a standout soccer player at Southern Connecticut State University (1992-1995), where I earned two (2) NCAA National Championships, four (4) All-NECC honors, NCAA All-American honors, Final Four Offensive MVP, Senior Bowl selection, and the NCAA National Player of the Year Award (1995). A former member of the U-16 and U-18 Israeli national soccer teams, I played professionally in Israel and in the United States for the Connecticut Wolves.

Gil Hokayma is the creator & managing director of Tiny Feet Soccer LLC.  and will be head coach of new u9 and u11 boys teams in fall.

Hannah Baldino

I graduated from Liberty University in Virginia in May of 2016 with a teaching degree in health and physical education. Since finishing college, I've been able to teach as a long-term substitute in two schools in CT, as well as coach soccer in several towns in CT. I appreciate the opportunity to teach and coach kids of all skill levels. Currently, I am the head coach of the girls u9 team, and am participating in the the town’s rec program. I will be head coach of the new u9 girls team in the Fall, and am looking forward to further developing that group. I will also be continuing as the girls u10 coach in the Fall, following a very successful Spring.

Mike Dyer

Soccer and helping others become better players is a lifelong passion of mine.  I have coached teams of all age groups and abilities (both boys and girls). I have been a member of the Newtown High School Boys Soccer Program from 2004 – 2016 as a Freshman coach, Junior Varsity coach, and Assistant Varsity coach. I have also been involved with the Newtown Soccer Club, Monroe Soccer Club, and Fairfield Soccer Club from 2004 – the present.  Along with coaching soccer I am also a science teacher at Newtown High School. I really enjoy being a part of the Newtown community and take great pride in being a member of the Newtown Soccer Club.

I am excited about taking the u11 girls in the Fall - it’s already a strong group and my plan is to develop that talent further and compete at the highest level.

Dan Sailer

My initial foray into soccer was in elementary school as a part of Wilton’s rec program for 4th through 7th grade. I took a hiatus from the sport until college when I joined the school club team for a semester, and then my fraternity team. It was at this time that I also became co-coach of a 5th-6th grade boys team that went onto become rec champions and received the sportsmanship award that year voted on by all the coaches in the league. It wasn’t until my oldest daughter started playing Rec soccer at U8 that I decided it more enjoyable to yell instructions to the kids from the coach’s side of the field instead of the parents’ side.  I’ve been coaching soccer in Newtown for the last 12 years, U8 thru U14 Rec and Girls Travel U12, U13, U14 and U16-U19. I have also been a certified ref since 2010.
