Avery and the 2012 Avery Blake Award winners Luke Agness and Becka Bowman
Avery Blake Jr. brought four years of winning teams to Swarthmore College from 1950-1953
when he led the small liberal arts school to four consecutive Pennsylvania-Delaware League Championships. While earning a varsity letter all four years, Blake was selected on the All-American teams in each of his four years at Swarthmore. Blake culminated his lacrosse career in 1953 as a co-captain of the North in the 1953 North-South Game.
He was inducted into the Swarthmore College Garnet Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012 and into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1979, joining his father who was an outstanding player and coach.

Forever dedicated to the game he loved, Avery was committed to helping any child play Lacrosse.

The Avery Blake Memorial Scholarship Fund is committed to that goal and is dedicated in his honor.
