Scholarship Committee

Number of Volunteers Needed:  2-4

Estimated Time Commitment:  2-3 hours in Fall and 2-3 hours in Spring

The purpose of the “Scholarship Committee” is to provide registration scholarships to players with financial need.  This will include:

  • Understanding the budget available for HS and Youth scholarships as determined by the Board

  • Setting process for assessing “financial need”

  • Reviewing the requests of those families scholarships

  • Approving and communicating scholarships to the relevant family

  • Communicating scholarships to the Board – specifically, Treasurer and HS/Youth Director/Coordinator, as appropriate

PWLC 3/4 Team Manager

Team Manager Responsibilities

Each grade level team should have one dedicated Team Manager.  Grade levels with more than one team (5/6 Black, 5/6 Royal) may require more than one dedicated Team Manager.  The Team Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Send out all team specific communications.This will include registration deadlines, practice schedules, upcoming games and other events.

  • Assist with registering players with PWLC and DFWL

  • Assign all registered players to the appropriate teams.Where a grade level has more than one team, the Coaches will determine which team a player is assigned.

  • Ensure that all players know which team they are assigned.

Once you receive the game schedules from the Scheduling Committee:

  • Enter complete games schedules on the PWLC website

  • Enter home games on the DFWL website

Once you receive game scores from the Game Day Committee:

  • Enter all scores into the PWLC website

  • Enter all scores into the DFWL website – Spring only and District Games only

Throughout the Season:

  • Talk with parents/players to determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed

  • Communicate any issues, parent/player concerns to Youth Coordinator

At the End of the Season:

  • Work with the Coach to schedule an End of Season team activity/party

Fundraising Committee

Fundraising Committee

Estimated Time Commitment:  8-10 hours in Fall; 8-10 hours in Spring

The purpose of the “Fundraising Committee” is to raise money to support PWLC and keep registration fees at an affordable level.  Fundraising activities/ideas include:

  • HS email fundraiser (Fall)

  • Corn Hole Tournament (Fall)

  • Corporate Sponsorships (Fall & Spring)

  • Spirit Nights (Fall & Spring)

  • Black & Blue Bash (Spring)

Game Day Committee

Game Day Committee

Number of Volunteers Needed:  12+

Estimated Time Commitment:  1 hour each Home Game

Purpose of the Game Day Committee is to ensure all Youth Home Games are adequately staffed.  This includes:

  • Retrieving all necessary equipment from the storage unit.  This includes:

    • Portable AED's and other emergency equipment

    • Field markers

    • End line balls

    • Hecters (for K/1/2 games only)

    • Portable Creases (for K/1/2 games only)

    • Folding tables and chairs (one set for each field in use)

    • Scoreboards

    • Field “A” and Field “B” signs

    • Plano West tent

  • Set up fields for all games

    • Set out field markers

    • Set out Field “A” and Field “B” signs

    • Tables and chairs for each field in use

    • Scoreboards and Scoring Sheets for each field in use

    • Compress field and hang hecters and lay out portable creases for any K/1/2 games

  • Have score keepers and time keepers for all scheduled games

    • K/1/2 and 3/4 games require one person to run clock and keep score

    • 5/6 and 7/8 games require two people, one the run clock and keep score and one to track penalties

  • Have a Field Administrator for each game.  Each Field Administrator should:

    • Introduce themselves to the officials and coaches

    • Ensure that there is a working game clock/scoreboard and someone to run it

    • Address any “fan disruptions”

    • Handle any other emergencies during games

  • Communicate all game scores to Team Manager/Youth Coordinator

  • Charge scoreboards after each game

  • Clean up fields

    • Pick up and return all items to the storage unit

    • Pick up and dispose of all trash

    • Pick up and retain stray lacrosse balls

    • Pick up and retain in “Lost & Found” any non-trash items
